The electoral register/voters roll is a public document
available for inspection which lists everyone who is entitled
to vote in the district.
We hold two versions - the electroal register and the open
The electoral register lists the names and addresses of everyone
who is registered to vote in a public election. The register is
used for electoral purposes and can be used for other limited
purposes specified by law including detecting crime, jury service
and credit applications.
The open register is an extract of the electoral register
however it is not used for elections. It can be bought be any
person, company or organisation. Your name and address will be
included in the open register unless you ask us to remove it.
Removing your details from the open register does not affect your
right to vote.
If you do NOT want to appear in this version make sure you
indicate on your voter registration form or annual canvass form
your desire to opt-out of appearing. You can also permanently
opt-out so we do not ask you again each year. Please write to us
stating that you wish to be excluded from the Open Register
permanently under the terms of the Data Protection Act. Each person
must do this individually.
We update the register monthly (click on monthly revisions
timetable below). By law we also have to carry out
an annual canvass. We'll hand deliver a form to your home each
year during the summer/early Autumn so you can let us
know whether your circumstances have changed or not.
If there are any changes you should:
