General Website - we use session cookies throughout the site to enable the website to work correctly, they are used to identify the users session (Known as session cookies). Without it the system would not know which running session is the current user, it will often use a cookie called ASP.NET_SessionId or JSESSIONID.
 
 
Google Analytics - We use Google Analytics to help find out about how people use our website, this enables us to identify parts of the site that need improving. Google Analytics stores information about what pages you visit, how long you are on the site, how you got here and what you click on. We do not collect or store your personal information (e.g. your name or address) so this information cannot be used to identify who you are. We do not allow Google to use or share our analytics data. (The cookie is saved as _utmX)
 
 
Google Translate - stores preferences for the Google Translate widget. (The cookie is saved as PREF, NID and googtrans)
 
 
Online Payment System - Session cookies are used to store the customers transactions in the shopping basket
 
 
Job Application System - Cookies are used to remember if you have logged onto the site when you make an application, if you tick the remember me tick box.
 
 
Public / Consultee access (Planning system) - JSESSIONID cookies are used for functionality of the Idox Public access system, this is used to store session state and not identify any personal details.
 
 
 
You can set your computer not to accept cookies. However, if you do this, parts of our website may not function correctly.
 
 
 
 

ii) Log files

 
Log files allow us to record visitors' use of the site. We put together log file information from all our visitors, which we use to make changes to the layout of the site and to the information in it, based on the way that visitors move around it.
