Latest work club to launch in Essington
Job hunters living in
the South Staffordshire village of Essington are being given a New
Year boost after it was announced that a new work club will open in
the village in January.
The new club, which will help support local
people who are looking to get back into work, launches on the
Friday 13th January at the village hall on Hobnock Road.
The Essington Work Club becomes the sixth club
in South Staffordshire to open its doors after similar ventures in
the villages of Codsall, Bilbrook, Wombourne, Perton, Huntington
and Featherstone all opened last year.
The club will run every week and will give job
hunters the chance to brush up on their interview skills and CV
writing. Local people who are out of work and are looking for a
helping hand to get a job will also be able to get advice and
support from employment experts and local businesses, as well as
gain formal qualification.
The new club launches on Friday 13th of
January from 10am-1pm.
Councillor Brian
Edwards, Leader of South Staffordshire Council said:
“Essington is the latest
village to come on board with the new job clubs. We’ve already
helped people back into work through these clubs so hopefully this
will be a huge benefit to people in Essington who want to start the
New Year with the chance of getting back to work.”
South Staffordshire
Council and Chairman of Essington Parish Council, Councillor, David
Clifft said:
"By introducing the Job
Club to the local community, residents will have greater access to
the job market. Villagers seeking employment will be given
one-to-one help with job applications, CV's, interview preparation
and more. The Club is completely free and open to all age
groups."
