New work club for Wombourne

Job hunters in
Wombourne are being given the opportunity to bolster their CV and
get back to work thanks to a new work club which is opening in the
village on Tuesday 29th November.
The club, which is being supported by South
Staffordshire Council, will run every fortnight as part of a new
initiative to help local people back into work. The Wombourne work
club is now the fifth in South Staffordshire after successful clubs
were launched in Huntington, Codsall & Bilbrook, Perton and
Featherstone earlier in the year.
The Wombourne Work Club will launch on:
Tuesday 29th
November 2011
10am-12
noon
Wombourne
Library
Local people who are out of work and are
looking for a helping hand to get a job can get advice and support
from employment experts and local businesses, as well as gain
formal qualifications. Job seekers will also get top tips and
advice about preparing CV’s, filling in online job applications,
covering letters, interview techniques and job searching.
The launch of the new work club is being
marked with an employment fayre giving job hunters the chance to
apply for jobs with local employers such as Allied Health Care as
well as access apprenticeships with JML Training.
More information about local job opportunities
as well as advice from local employment experts will be on hand
throughout the session too.
Councillor David
Billson, Deputy Leader at South Staffordshire Council
said:
“This is now our fifth job
club in the district and we’re really hoping that we can help local
people from Wombourne, and its nearby villages, get back to
work.”
