Our walking festival is back!

South Staffordshire Council’s Walking Festival
is back for its fourth year and council bosses are promising that
this year’s will be the best yet.
Walkers can put their best foot forward and
make the most of all South Staffordshire has to offer between
13 June - 4 July 2010 through a series of walks in
villages across the district.
The guided walks through some of the most
beautiful spots in South Staffordshire will be taking place
throughout the festival and range from short walks for all the
family to demanding treks over the Staffordshire Way for the more
experienced and adventurous walkers.
Councillor Roger
Lees (Deputy Leader) Community Services at South Staffordshire
Council said:
“The festival’s back for its fourth
year and after the dreadful weather over the winter we’re keeping
our fingers crossed for good weather this summer.”
“We’ve got walks for everyone and the
great news is they’re all completely free. In these tougher
financial times, walking is the perfect way to keep fit without
having to break the bank”.
The three-week long festival kicks-off at
Himley Hall’s Songs of Praise on Sunday 13 June and is brought
to an end at the council’s own ‘Concerts in the Park’ at Baggeridge
Country Park on Sunday 4 July with plenty of miles to be clocked up
in between.
