Became a Governor of St. Paul's School at Coven in 1965 and was its Chairman during 1970 to 1980. Lead the campaign for a new school in Coven.

Became a member of Penkridge & District Riding Club in 1975. Became a Show Jumping Judge from 1977 to date and was the President of the Club from 1998 to 2000.

Became a member of the Brewood & Coven Conservative Branch in 1990 and is a former Chairman.
