From 1972 to 1986 was the founder Head Teacher of the new comprehensive school, Leasowes High School and Community College, Halesowen, when comprehensive secondary schools were introduced throughout the area.

Became a member of Kinver Sports and Community Association in 1988 and has been the Treasurer and also Booking Secretary throughout the period from 1988 to date. During this time has stabilised the finances of this Association and is involved in all management decisions.
