Bonfire
At present, we offer only one annual
non-cricket event. This is our annual Bonfire party, which we have
held for the last five years. This event is always well received by
the local community, if a little under-funded. An entrance fee has
been charged since the third annual event in order to recoup some
of the costs of the event itself, and even net the club some much
needed extra funding if possible. We hope the event will grow even
further in popularity in the future!
Party on the Pitch
A new addition for 2012, we will be
throwing a proms-style concert in the summer, featuring a singer
and choir. This was not originally a club initiative, but was
suggested by a number of our neighbours. All will be welcome to
come down and enjoy this event, and more about this event will be
issued in due course.
Model Flying Club
A new addition to the club is a small
association of local model aircraft enthusiasts. They intend to
make use of the site on weekdays and evenings (between matches) and
all are welcome to come and watch once the organisation is up and
running at the club. They have plans to hold model air-show events
during the summer - which will be advertised when the time
comes.
Community/Charity Challenge
Matches
Throughout the year, the club intends to
hold such events to raise money for the club itself as well as
other worthy causes. These events will be organised whenever
possible, and often on quite an ad- hoc basis, subject to openings
within our fixtures table. Most often, these events will be
arranged for Sundays. These events will be advertised throughout
the local community once arranged.
