Barnfield Sandbeds

South Staffordshire Council have recently taken on the
management of
Barnfield Sandbeds in Brewood.
The site is a tremendous natural
resource and the Council is looking forward to working
with the local community to ensure that the work on the site meets
everybody’s expectations and requirements whilst keeping the
existing character intact.
Over the coming months, the
Council are looking to improve access through the site,
undertake essential but minimal tree works and clear fly tipping
and industrial waste. We will ensure that all work carried
out will be sensitive to the existing nature of the site.
The Council will also encourage the
creation of a ‘Friends Group’ for the site. The group will
help to forge a strong link between the Council and the local
community. It is hoped that they will also assist with
day-to-day tasks in relation to the way the site will be
managed.
The Council would be
interested to hear how you use the site, what you think of it, and
what measures could be taken to improve it in the future. If
you would like to take part, please download the site user survey
below and email it to the Landscape Manager at:
Email: archland@sstaffs.gov.uk
Further updates on the site will be
added here as soon as they become available. In the meantime
if you have any questions or are interested in getting involved
with the Friends Group, please contact Howard Medlicott, the
Landscape Manager using the on-line form below:
