The Council manages many grass areas throughout the district.
The Council cuts the highway verges within the village
boundaries on behalf of Staffordshire County Council.
Outside the villages the verges are cut by Staffordshire
County Council's highway maintenance contractor.
Where the Council is responsible for grass cutting we carry
out the following approach.
Methods and quality control
Grass cutting machinery in use will be a combination of rotary
and cylinder mowers supported by strimmers, blowers and sweepers. A
written specification in the main contract document identifies the
required standard, which all our operators are aware of.
