Community Champions

Every year we recognise local people for the work they do in their community.

Community Champions 2010

Here are some of the latest community champions who have been recognised for their hard work by Councillor Brian Edwards (centre).

From left to right:

  • Graham Hughes: For his help to bring the local community of Featherstone together
  • Debra Bate: For services towards the community in Wheaton Aston
  • Jeanette Edwards: For services towards the Best Kept Village committee and other committees in Bishops Wood
  • Geraint Lang: For his work through the Friends of Wombrook Walk in Wombourne.

Featherstone Clean-up Day

Hundreds of people like these dedicate hours of their own time every week to making their community better.

Whether they're volunteers or whether they work at the heart of our communities - these people make a huge difference.

Do you know someone who deserves to be recognised a community champion?

If you do, simply email us your nomination giving us the name of the person and a few lines as to why you think they're a community champion.
