Cheslyn Hay Play Area
This year, Cheslyn Hay Parish Council were successful in
obtaining funding from the
Play Builder scheme. Playbuilder aims to
provide new & improved open-access play areas for children aged
8-13yrs across the County.
Through this scheme, Cheslyn Hay Parish
Council developed a natural play area, situated in amongst trees at
a recreation ground in the village. The site contains lots of play
experiences, where children & young people can climb, run, sit
and chat, and use the two zip wires. As all the equipment is built
entirely from natural materials, it fits in with the natural
woodland area.
The play area is a great addition to the other
facilities in the village, and is being well used by local children
& young people.
The Playbuilder scheme is now closed to new
applications, with the final round of applications being assessed
in March. However, there is still funding available for play from
elsewhere – if you would like to improve play facilities in your
village, you are advised to talk through your ideas with South
Staffordshire Play Partnership, who can give you all the advice you
will need, including the latest national guidance around play.
