Rabies Contingencies
The UK has been free of classical rabies for many decades but,
because of the existence of the disease elsewhere in Europe and the
rest of the world, there is concern over rabies being introduced by
imported animals.
South Staffordshire Council would support the Department for
Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Staffordshire County
Council Emergency Planning Unit in the event of any suspected
incident of rabies occurring within its District.
If you have concerns regarding any animal you feel may have been
imported illegally into South Staffordshire from outside the UK you
may contact us on-line using the Environmental Health Commercial Services Enquiry
form.
Alternatively you could contact us using the details below.
There are no associated costs for reporting any concerns
regarding illegally imported animals.
