Older People

Old PeopleFor the more mature amongst us physical activity and exercise is now being recognised as a major factor in affecting and improving our quality of life. From weight management to carrying out everyday tasks such as standing up from a low chair. Research has shown great strength improvements in over 50's starting a program of resistance exercise. Then there is the social side, don't think exercise has to be in the gym. Go for a walk, swim or what about dancing?

Staffordshire Council has a wide range of leisure centre and community based activities specifically aimed at older people including the Active Generation Programme that runs at all South Staffordshire Council Leisure Centres which includes swimming and gym sessions, as well as a variety of walks.
