Accident Notifications
If there is an incident connected
with work and: an employee, or a self employed person working on
your premises is killed or suffers a major injury; or a member of
the public is killed or taken to hospital the person operating the
business must:
Notify the enforcing
authority without delay (by telephone) and follow this up within 10
days with a completed accident report form (F2508). If as a
result of an accident at work an employee is off work for more than
3 days, the person operating the business must: within 10 days,
notify the enforcing authority of the details of the incident by
returning a completed accident report form (F2508).
Note: The enforcing authority may be the HSE or
the local authority and, as this is not always obvious a National
