Swimming Courses
A variety of swimming courses are offered at Cheslyn
Hay Leisure Centre. All our Tutors are qualified to teach in
their specific subject and participants have opportunities to gain
nationally recognised qualifications.
Junior Lessons
Children will work towards a STA and ASA
award scheme and earn badges and certificates on achieving the
set criteria for each level. Children are assessed continuously and
moved up to the next group as soon as there is a space available
and they meet the criteria for that level.
Places on our Junior Swimming lessons fill up
fast so we operate a system of new starter enrolment dates. For

Adult Lessons
Our adult swimming programme is for all ages and
abilities. We cater for complete beginners or for more
confident swimmers who would like to improve their stroke
techniques
National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
Cheslyn Hay Leisure centre is a registered IQL
Accredited Training Centre and runs regular RLSS National Pool
Lifeguard courses. The course teaches Lifeguard rules, supervision,
rescue techniques, and First Aid including CPR.
Entrants must be 16 years and over, able to
swim 50 metres in under 60 seconds, surface dive to the bottom of a
2.0 metre pool to retrieve an object and tread water for 30
seconds.
