Get Set Coaches
The Community Development Team are always looking to support
both aspiring and established sports
coaches in
developing their education.
A range of courses and workshops are held on a
regular basis within South Staffordshire and the surrounding areas
including National Governing Body sport specific coaching
qualifications and training on a number of areas including
Safeguarding & Protecting Children, First Aid and Equity in
Your Coaching.

Qualified coaches or those working towards
qualifications may have the opportunity to be paid to deliver
activities in the school and the local community through South
Staffordshire Council and South Staffordshire School Sport
Partnership.
Coaches can apply for financial assistance to
pay for coaching qualifications through both the Council Community
Grants scheme and the Sport Across Staffordshire & Stoke on
Trent Coach Scholarship Scheme. Examples of coaches that have
benefited from this scheme include 50% funding towards tennis level
one qualifications and 50% funding towards a table tennis level two
qualification.
