JOIN US IN CELEBRATING BRITISH FOOD FORTNIGHT...

The British Nation including, local people, Schools, Retailers, Pubs and Restaurants, Caterers and Food Service Companies are being encouraged to support British Food and be part of the National British Food Fortnight Campaign.

 

 

That’s the message from South Staffordshire Council who are encouraging everyone to be part of this celebration and enjoy the fantastic foods and taste, we as a Nation produce.

 

Councillor David Billson, (Deputy Leader) Strategic Services at South Staffordshire Council says…

 

‘Eating locally grown produce not only has health and environmental benefits it also supports and sustains our local businesses. Under the current economic climate we should all be supporting our local food producers, pubs and restaurants who are producing and serving Great British food. So next time you’re doing your grocery shopping or thinking of enjoying a meal out…think Local…think British!’ 

 

Councillor Roger Lees, (Deputy Leader) Community Services at South Staffordshire Council is also throwing his weight behind the British Food campaign:

 

"Whether it be seasonal fruit or locally reared farm produce, Staffordshire has some of the finest food producers and food outlets in the country."

 

"At a time when supporting our local businesses is so important, I hope people will back their local food producers and retailers by buying British."

 

Thousands of activities will be taking place across the country during British Food Fortnight including:

• Food and Drink festivals
• Promotions
• Tastings
• Special menus in pubs
• Restaurants and shops
