Validation Guidance

We want to deal with your application as quickly as possible but we can only start to deal with it if it is valid and has the information we need.  To help you please check the Councils Approved Validation Guidance.

Our present validation guidance was approved in 2008.  We are in the process of revising that guidance to take account of more recent events/guidance.  In addition we are consulting on a shortened validation guidance specifically for householder development.

The main changes incorporated in the revised guidance relate to:

- the publication of PPS5 Planning for the Historic Environment (see Heritage Asset – Statement of Significance);

- requirements in respect of the Cannock Chase Special Area of Conservation (see Cannock Chase Special Area of Conservation (SAC));

- revised standing advice from the Coal Authority (see Coal Mining Risk Assessment);

- additional requirements for ecological surveys (see Biodiversity Survey and Report).

In accordance with the recommended process for determining information requirements for planning applications, I am consulting statutory consultees, parish councils, relevant voluntary and community groups, and agents.  The time period for consultation is 8 weeks.  All of the comments received as a result on the consultation process will be reviewed and the matter will be reported back to Regulatory Committee for formal resolution and adoption.
