Planning is a statutory service
that deals with the following matters, which come under the Town
and Country Planning Act and some other pieces of legislation. The
main activities are dealing with:
- Planning applications
- Planning appeals
- Investigating reports of development carried without planning
permission
- Ensuring that sites are developed and used in accordance with
planning conditions and the approved plans
- Developing planning policies to include in the Local Plan so
that people know how land can be developed in the future
- Road names for new developments, giving numbers to new
properties and renaming of existing properties
- Enquiries from the public and general advice on planning
matters
