If the applicant is unhappy with the
decision either because permission was refused or granted
permission subject to conditions that he thinks are unreasonable he
can appeal. He can also appeal if a decision has not been made
in 8 weeks and he does not agree to an extension of time.
The Planning
Inspectorate deals with planning appeals.
You can check to see if an appeal
has been made against a planning decision, or if an appeal decision
has been received, by using our
PublicAccess system. Once you have gained access
to the system select the 'Application Search' box and by using the
filters and the Search button you can see what is in the
database.
The database is still being developed so it cannot be guaranteed to
be 100% complete. If in doubt contact a
Development Management at the
Council Offices.
NOTE: A right of appeal only applies to the
applicant and not to any other third parties or people who made
comments. In certain circumstances a third party can
challenge a decision on a point of law but before contemplating
this course of action you must take sound legal advice.
