Street Naming and Numbering
It is essential that emergency services and
delivery services, as well as the public in general, can find
properties easily and quickly. A logical road naming and numbering
system is essential and this is one of the functions that we carry
out.
On new developments we allocate road
names after consultation with Councillors and the Parish Council
and to ensure there is no duplication of addresses we consult the
Post Office. House numbers are then allocated to the individual
properties (we don't allocate No 13 any more!).
Some house owners also like to have
a house name as part of their address. We keep records of these and
it is important that we are told of any changes so that we can
update or records and notify all of the statutory and emergency
services.

submit a proposal to name a road or street then please email:
