Extended Payments
What is an Extended Payment - formerly known
as, Housing Benefit Run On?
If you or your partner have been receiving one of
the benefits listed below for at least a period of 26 weeks,
and that benefit ends because you or your partner
have started work or increased your hours, you may
be eligible for an Extended Payment.
These benefits include:
- Income Support
- Income Based
Jobseekers Allowance
- Incapacity
Benefit
- Severe Disablement
Allowance.
- Employment &
Support Allowance.
An Extended Payment is four weeks of Benefit paid at the
same amount as when you were entitled to one of the
above benefits.
Extended payments are made irrespective of the amount you may
earn in your new job.
The Benefits Department will identify any entitlement to an
Extended Payment therefore there is no need for you to
apply.
