Have you reached Pension age?
Housing & Council Tax Benefits:
Don't delay - apply today!
The capital threshold has been increased from £6,000 to £10,000
for those who have reached Pension age.
This means that up to £10,000 of your capital will be ignored
in the calculation of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit.
Many people who have previously
not qualified for Housing or Council Tax Benefit could now receive
some help towards paying their rent or Council Tax.
You may be entitled to claim
Benefits from the Council as long as your savings or investments
are less than £16,000. (If you are receiving
Guaranteed Pension Credit you may be entitled even if your
savings exceed £16000)
