Election Information
Full district and parish elections were held on Thursday 3 May
2007.
All 25 Wards for the 49 Council seats will be contested. Wards
either have one, two or three members representing them
depending on the number of registered voters.
The 2003 election resulted in the Council having:
- 35 Conservative Councillors
- Eight Labour *
- One Liberal-Democrat
- Four Independent
- One Freedom Party
* This number was reduced to six Members due to the sad
deaths of a Councillor in December 2006 and March 2007. Both
seats were filled on 3 May 2007. See the vacancy notices
below.
There were six uncontested Wards.
