The Council aims to provide clean, green and safe
open spaces for the benefit of the people of South
Staffordshire.
Grounds maintenance operations
are carried out in partnership with an external contractor, using
best horticultural practice and sustainable working methods.
Work includes:
- grass cutting
- litter clearance
- shrub maintenance
- shrub and tree planting
- bulb planting
- landscaping projects
- landscape improvements
- conservation projects
- assisting with events
- installing benches and litter bins
- playground checking at some sites for litter, vandalism and
mandatory safety checks
- cemetery management
- habitat protection and enhancement
The grounds maintenance team also
provides help and advice on horticultural matters for residents in
the community. Community groups are encouraged and partnerships
with such groups are wholly supported.
