Freecycle

International non-profit movement allowing members to pass on and collect unwanted items free of charge: www.freecycle.org/Bulky waste

National grass roots organisation of people who are giving and receiving free unwanted items in their immediate communities: www.ilovefreegle.org/

 

Ecycle (Express and Star)

Online free exchange operated through the classifieds section of the Express and Star website: www.expressandstar.com/classifieds/ecycle

Similar movement to Freecycle but no membership required. Browse items available/wanted from your local group: www.2recycle.co.uk

Household Waste Recycling Centres

Bulky household waste including large electrical items can be recycled at the Household Waste Recycling Centres located at Poplars Landfill (Cannock), Pendeford Mill Lane (Bilbrook) and Botterham Lane (Wombourne). These sites are operated by Staffordshire County Council. Please follow the link below for locations, opening times and other information regarding these sites.

Bulky Waste Collection
 
Throughout the year, the Council provides special collections of bulky household items such as fridges and furniture. Items are normally collected within 7 calendar days of the request.
 
The cost for a bulky household waste collection is a standard charge of £15.00 for 3 items, with any additional items charged at £2.00 per item thereafter. We collect a maximum of 7 items.
