Reviews and Assessments
Pollution from road traffic is the most serious issue for South
Staffordshire. Nitrogen dioxide is the pollutant most likely
to be found at excessive levels. We monitor this pollutant at
various sites close to main roads, where high levels are expected
and people’s houses are nearby.
We continue to work with key partners, including the Highways
Agency and Staffordshire County Council, to reduce pollution
levels.
