Street Lighting
Lighting of public highways and
footpaths is the responsibility of Staffordshire County Council.
This responsibility excludes the lighting of unadopted footways,
communal areas etc. which can be undertaken by either the District
or Parish Council, or by the landlord in the case of a private
site.
South Staffordshire Council works
in partnership with Staffordshire County Council to look after its
own lighting and also to deal with faults within the public highway
lighting system in general.
The Council also undertakes an
annual programme of street lighting improvements as part of its
capital strategy. This currently amounts to £50,000 worth of
lighting improvements in the district per annum.
Report a lighting
fault using our
Street Lighting Fault Form.
The PFI (Private Finance
Initiative) contractor for Staffordshire Street Lighting
and Illuminated Signs is
E.ON.

or illuminated sign fault to E.ON use

Faulty lights can normally be
repaired within 5 working days, however if there is found to be an
electricity supply failure then the repair time can be considerably
longer as extensive works may be required.
Requests for new or improved
