The South Staffordshire Railway Walk runs for five and a half
miles from Castlecroft at the northern end to Wall Heath in the
south, where it continues on to Pensnett. The northern end at
Castlecroft extends through Valley Park.
The all weather surface makes it ideal for wheelchairs,
pushchairs and family cycling. Horse riding is allowed between
Greyhound Lane (Penn Halt) and Wombourne Station, and from Wall
Heath to Himley Car Park.
Refreshments
The Railway Café which is located on the South
Staffordshire Railway Walk in Wombourne has been open for many
years, but has recently undergone refurbishment and is now open
under new management. The Railway Café now offers a very homely
feel and is beautifully decorated with plenty of seating indoors
and outdoors. For more information and opening times please click
on the link on the link below.
Picnic sites run all along the walk including Penn Halt, Orton
Hall, The Bratch and Himley.
