Motor Salvage OperatorUnder the Vehicles Crime Act 2001, motor salvage businesses have to apply to be licensed by the Council in order to operate in accordance with the Motor Salvage Regulations 2002.

Before issuing any licence the Council must satisfy itself that the operator is a "fit and proper person" which includes checking the identity of the person applying for registration and the checking of police records.
