taxi-bus service
Taxi-Bus for our
Friends in the North

Our public taxi-bus service will get
rural residents in the north of the District from B to C - Brewood
to Cannock that is - via Penkridge and most of the villages and
hamlets in-between.

The "Village Buzz" runs on Wednesdays and
Saturdays, and if you need to use it, you can flag one down from
the side of the road.
It's a six-month pilot project to gauge
demand, by the South Staffordshire Rural Transport Partnership, who
have been listening to local concerns about the scarcity of public
transport in rural areas.
The Village Buzz could offer a really useful
solution - and the fares are pretty reasonable, £1.50 for a return
trip (75p for children). What's more, people holding national bus
passes can use it for FREE, subject to normal bus rules.
Instead of a bus, though, it will be an
8-seater mini-bus, operated by Codsall Cars on behalf of the
Partnership.
The great thing about this service is that it
can help people who aren't on a main bus route, get to one. For
example, it can pick you up in one village and drop you off in
another where there's a connecting service.
And don't worry if the bus is full - Codsall Cars promise to
send another mini-bus straight out to you.
