What is our Residents' Panel'?

consultation

BMG Research recruit and manage a residents’ panel on our behalf; 'The South Staffordshire Viewpoint'. The panel is made up of around 1,000 residents from around the district.

We aim to consult the panel throughout the year, and we use the results to help us make policy decisions.

We also use the panel to conduct smaller surveys and focus groups.

Why a Residents' Panel?

Working with our panel means that we can find out the views of local people.

By working with our panel, we can find out about some of the important issues which are affecting our local communities and it also gives the panel a chance to tell us their views about the work we're doing.

The Panel isn't the only way we consult with and involve local people. Take a look and see what other issues we're consulting on at the moment through our 'Have Your Say' webpage.

You Said, We Did

Every year we write to everyone on our panel and tell them about the changes we've made to our services because of what they've told us.

Place Survey 2008

In 2008, every council in England and Wales carried out a survey of local residents called the ‘Place Survey’.

The survey was aimed at measuring people's perception, not just of their local council, but of the place in which they live.

The results showed that more of us are satisfied with South Staffordshire as a place to live than anywhere else in the whole of Staffordshire.
