Housing Strategy 2009-2012
A South Staffordshire Local Strategic
Partnership (LSP) Housing Strategy has been developed through the
LSP framework and feeds into the South Staffordshire Sustainable
Community Strategy 2008-2020. It explains how, by working in
partnership, we will bring about positive changes that will improve
the lives of people who live in South Staffordshire. It builds on
the successes of previous plans and actions and sets out a new
strategic direction for the next three years.
Before work on the strategy commenced the
LSP Housing Delivery Group was presented with 5 key priorities that
were identified by the Sustainable Community Strategy and these
priorities form the basis of the Group’s work and the LSP Housing
Strategy. They are:
- Maintaining the sustainability of our local
villages;
- Ensuring the supply of the right type of
housing in the right locations;
- Reducing and preventing homelessness;
- Targeting poor quality housing and ensuring
that everyone has access to a decent home;
- Ensuring that a variety of housing options
are available to meet the housing needs of our most vulnerable
residents.
