Procurement
"Procurement" is the process of acquiring goods, works and
services, covering both acquisition from third parties and from
in-house providers. The process spans the whole cycle from
identification of needs, through to the end of a services contract
or the end of the useful life of an asset. It involves options
appraisal and the critical 'make or buy' decision which may result
in the provision of services in-house in appropriate
circumstances.
There is a National Strategy for Local Government Procurement
which is available on the Department of
Communities and Local Government.
Help us to help you!
We are keen to have feedback from suppliers on how good we are
to do business with. Each year we carry out an annual
supplier questionnaire to approximately our top 100 suppliers based
on spend with us. This survey helps us learn from you and enables
us to continue to improve.
Please see links below for annual results.
You can download our Procurement Strategy, or view the strategy
in full using the links below.

Please note:
- We do NOT maintain select lists. The contract
officer will produce a short list for each contract before it goes
out to tender.
- We do use Constructionline
but this does NOT preclude any contractor who is not a member
being considered for any contract.
- We also just have one main building (Council Offices,
Codsall) and no housing stock as this is the responsibility of
Housing Plus (South Staffordshire Housing
Association).
