My Place My Say Members
In South Staffordshire are three tiers of governance, Parish Councillors, District Councillors and County Councillors.
A Member Form is the opportunity to bring all these layers of Councillors together for information sharing and engagement, for two-way communications between South Staffordshire Council and the opportunity for all Councillors to feedback community issues and concerns.
Parish Councillors represent the communities within South Staffordshire.
They managed their local area and ensure residents enjoy living in their local area, feel safe when out and about in their village and stay independent and health for as long as possible.
Twice a year all Parish Councillors are invited to a Parish Summit hosted by South Staffordshire Council. The summit is an information sharing and engagement event including workshops on subjects pertinent to parishes and their local communities and can focus on new legislation, local evidence of local needs, parish champions etc.
A Masterclass brings together all councillors (parish, district and county), partner agencies and the community and voluntary sector to look in more depth at particular issues.
Previous masterclasses have focussed on transport, modern day slavery, anti-social behaviour, health, localism, welfare reform and volunteering.
They are scheduled in the diary on an ad-hoc basis as and when new legislation is introduced, a change in work practices is implemented or a restructure is undertaken. If there are any changes made within the remit of the local authority, parish councils or elsewhere that affects our local communities, a Masterclass will be held for further in-depth knowledge within the district.
Masterclasses will be advertised on the council website, Good Life website and invitations sent to all members of South Staffordshire Partnership and all councillors.
