Visions and Objectives for 2018 - 2019
South Staffordshire Council has 4 key visions and objectives for 2018-2019:
Putting the Councils Equality Vision and Objectives into Action:
Vision 1: To recognise the protected characteristics in the population of South Staffordshire and ensure services are delivered appropriately
Objective: To understand the make-up of our communities and recognise any bespoke needs. To work with our partners to effectively promote equality and diversity and tackle extremism through delivery of the Prevent Duty and challenge intolerance of any kind across South Staffordshire and build stronger, more cohesive communities.
Actions: Produce a survey monkey for questionnaires on tablets for customers to complete Produce a leaflet about protected characteristics and the services we deliver for all sections of our communities to be distributed with the Council Tax information
Vision 2: Connecting with our communities better on the digital platform and encouraging more residents and businesses to engage with the Council via e-mail, twitter, Facebook or on the internet
Objective: To enable residents to give their views, influence decision-making and enhance their own skills, and create a forum for support and reassurance.
Actions: Working with older people's groups and Age UK to promote the good points of computers and other digital equipment Create a Forum of residents/businesses/work clubs to direct digital communication more effectively to local residents and businesses
Vision 3: To support local people to become more active in their communities
Objective: To encourage local communities to be more connected and promote access to local services through the Goodlife
Actions: Volunteers in Baggeridge Park Friends Groups Open space gyms - including walking groups
Vision 4: To ensure the council workforce and local Members understands the Equality Act
Objective: To enhance the understanding of Equality and Diversity within South Staffordshire Council
Actions: Training for all staff and Members
