South Staffordshire council news

South Staffordshire Council is constantly working with Staffordshire Police to continue to ensure South Staffordshire is a safe place to live, work and visit.

Crime and anti-social behavior (ASB) levels are lower in South Staffordshire than in surrounding areas such as Cannock, Stafford and Wolverhampton, however the Council continues to work in partnership to deliver effective ways of reducing the opportunity for crime to take place. Some examples of this work include;

- Promoting crime prevention advice via the Council's website and Facebook pages. Supporting police to deliver targeted operations to disrupt and charge criminals who target South Staffordshire.

- Space scheme; delivering discounted leisure and swimming passes at the leisure centers through the summer holidays for young people, so to reduce  the chances of them engaging in ASB.

- Delivering a “parking buddies" project, which provides schools with mini police officer signs, to help address the issues of parking close to  schools.

-Working in partnership with Staffordshire fire and rescue service to deliver “Safe and Sound"  The project is aimed at both children and over 60's to provide advice and guidance on staying safe and improve wellbeing.
