Licensing Services
Licensing is a statutory duty carried out by the
Council for the purpose of protecting people and animals. The
Council's licensing duties cover a wide range of activities of
which most involve a licensing fee being charged (details are
provided on the relevant pages).

Issues of animal welfare are dealt with and investigated
either by the RSPCA in terms of animal cruelty in private homes
etc, or by Trading Standards officers who are part of the County
Council who carry out random inspections of agricultural markets,
farms etc.
