There are lots of options available to dispose of waste from a business.
Waste from a business, sometimes known as commercial waste or trade waste, cannot be disposed of in household waste bins or street litter bins.
If you own a business, you must make arrangements for the disposal of your business waste.
All of Staffordshire's recycling centres accept business waste from small traders.
Vans and some trailers are allowed on the recycling centres, and no booking is required, simply turn up during opening hours and speak to a member of staff.
For more information on prices to dispose of trade waste, how to pay, opening times and locations, please visit Staffordshire County Council's Trade Waste Disposal Scheme webpage.
Privately operated commercial recycling centres are also available. If you choose to use a privately operated disposal site, please check the site is licenced with the Environment Agency (EA).
Commercial Waste Collection
There are lots of choices available when it comes to a commercial waste collection.
Please ensure you check that anyone who takes your waste is licenced with the EA. It is also important to check that the location they are taking your waste to is licenced as well. It's easy to check this information, simply enter the company's details into the EA's Waste Licence search tool.
You need to keep Waste Transfer records to demonstrate your Duty of Care, please ensure you get a Waste Transfer Note and receipt from the company.
