Domestic abuse is never acceptable. It can take many forms and includes physical, sexual, psychological or financial abuse that takes place within an intimate or family-type relationship and that forms a pattern of coercive and controlling behaviour - find out how to get help on the gov.uk website.
There is support for victims of domestic abuse in South Staffordshire through New Era (Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent) - Victim Support who are a specialised service with specially trained staff available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 0300 303 3778 to speak to someone.
'Hollie Guard'
Hollie Guard is an app that turns your smartphone into an enhanced personal safety device and it was developed after Hollie Gazzard was tragically murdered by her boyfriend in 2014 after months of obsessive behaviour, jealousy and harassment.
Hollie's family and the Hollie Gazzard Trust created the app following her death to support victims of domestic abuse and violence of all ages and genders and it can be used by anyone looking for extra protection.
Search for “Hollie Guard” on your smartphone app store (it’s free to download) - you can find out more about it on the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Violence Reduction Alliance website.
