Single Person Discount Review
South Staffordshire Council regularly undertakes reviews in relation to Council Tax.
This gives people the chance to tell us if there have been any change in circumstances that may affect their entitlement to a discount or exemption.
Any ratepayer who receives a discount or exemption must inform the council of any changes which may affect their entitlement to the discount/exemption.
Currently, Council Tax payers in South Staffordshire who receive a 25% reduction on their bill as single occupancy residents will be checked in November and December 2019 to make sure that the reductions are correct.
You can complete your review online now. If you complete this form online you are not required to complete a paper form.
We have a duty to protect the public funds we are in charge of and we will use the information provided by residents to prevent and detect fraud.
In accordance with Schedule 3 of the Local Government Finance Act 1992, consideration may also be given to imposing a £70 penalty where a person does not return the forms sent out as part of this review or where there has been a failure to notify the Council of a change in circumstances.
