Housing and Homelessness Strategy
The Housing and Homelessness Strategy for South Staffordshire was adopted by the Council on 27 March 2018. Over the period 2018-2022, the strategy aims to ensure that everyone in the district is able to afford a home that is suitable for them, whether it be on the open market, or through one of our local Registered Provider partners. In order to achieve this, the strategy is focused around three key priorities:
1. Ensure the right types of housing in the right locations to meet local need
2. Improve the standard and quality of housing to positively contribute to the health, wellbeing and independence of residents
3. Prevent and alleviate homelessness
A public consultation on the strategy was held prior to adoption, from December 2017 - January 2018, and the Council's responses to all comments made can be viewed via the link below.
The Strategic Planning Team manages and maintains a register of persons who have an interest in local planning documents (Local Plan Database); those who wish to register their interest or land for future development on our Self and Custom Build Register and/or Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA); those who have commented on emerging Council strategy documents; and information regarding historic home improvement grants and empty properties. In order to do this in an effective way we will need to collect and use personal information about you.
