How will the Immigration Act affect you?

What is the Immigration Act?  

Schedule 4 of the Immigration Act 2016 was implemented on 6 April 2017 and specifically relates to the Licensing Act 2003. It placed a duty upon Licensing Authorities to prevent individuals without lawful immigration or right to work permissions from being granted a personal or premises licence.  

How will it affect you?  

On submission of your application, you will be required to present a copy of a document showing your right to work permission in the UK. If you are unable to provide the required documentation, a licence will not be granted.

Applications affected by the Act; 

  • New premises applications for the sale of alcohol and/or late-night refreshment. *Excluding applications made by a limited company or applications for regulated entertainment only. 
  • Transfer of premises licence *Excluding applications transferring the licence to a limited company. 
  • New personal licences.
