Gambling Act 2005

Summary

The Gambling Act 2005 gives a comprehensive structure to the law on gambling and gives responsibility for the licensing of gambling premises to Local Authorities.

The Local authority is also responsible for issuing permits for gaming machines and small society lotteries.

Under the terms of the Act, South Staffordshire Council is required to publish a Statement of Gambling Policy. More information on the Gambling Act can be found on the Gambling Commission website.
