Responding to the Consultation
This public consultation is slightly different than previous consultations and is set out in Planning Regulations. This is your chance to tell the Council whether you think the Plan has been properly prepared, and whether the contents of the plan are sound. If you want to make representations on how the Council has prepared the SAD, it is likely that your representations will relate to a matter of legal compliance. If it is the content you wish to comment on, it is likely to relate to whether the SAD is ‘sound' or unsound. You can see more about this in our Guidance Note.
Copies of all documents are available on this website and at the Council Offices in Codsall. You can also see the main documents at parish council offices, libraries and leisure centres in South Staffordshire. You can see the summaries of representations made to the previous Preferred Options consultations on the representations page.
This is a formal stage of consultation so any representations or comments must be made in writing. They can be submitted by email, response form or letter.
You should be aware that all comments will be made publicly available and will form part of a schedule of representations which will be published later in the year. The Local Plans Team will consider all representations before submitting the Plan to the Secretary of State later in the year.
You can speak with a member of the Local Plans team about the Plan - you do not need an appointment, but if you are planning to call in to the Council offices it would be helpful if you telephoned in advance to ensure that a member of the Local Plans Team will be available, to save making a wasted journey.
All comments made will be submitted with the Plan to the Secretary of State who will appoint an independent Planning Inspector to hold a Public Examination into the SAD. Dates for the Examination will be set by the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) and we hope this will be later in 2017. The Inspector will decide whether or not the SAD can be adopted or if any changes need to be made. If you make comments to this consultation, or have previously made comments at earlier stages, you will be notified of the Examination timetable.
The Strategic Planning Team manages and maintains a register of persons who have an interest in local planning documents (Local Plan Database); those who wish to register land for future development on our Self and Custom Build Register and/or Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA); and regarding Empty Properties. In order to do this in an effective way we will need to collect and use personal information about you. For more information about how we process this data see Strategic Planning Team - Data Protection.
