Spatial Housing Strategy & Infrastructure Delivery
*Consultation now closed*
We are now consulting on the second stage of our Local Plan which is focused on broad locations for housing growth and the infrastructure required to deliver the growth. This consultation is not site specific, but looks at seven different options to deliver housing to meet South Staffordshire's own housing needs and a contribution towards unmet housing need in the wider region.
It does not cover employment growth or the needs of the Gypsy and Traveller community. These issues will be consulted on at Preferred Options, scheduled for summer 2020.
We are also consulting on an update to our Affordable Housing and Housing Mix Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). We have a strong track record of delivering affordable homes and the SPD sets out the Council's expectations in relation to the provision of housing in the district. This provides clarity for landowners, developers, registered providers and residents and will ensure a consistent approach is taken between sites across the district.
The consultation ran for 8 weeks from Thursday 17 October until 5pm Thursday 12 December 2019.
We welcome your views on the strategy options and the supporting Infrastructure Delivery Plan (IDP) which sits alongside the Spatial Housing Strategy. You can also comment on the supporting studies which include the Green Belt Study, Landscape Study and Sustainability Appraisal.
