Struggling to pay your council tax?

Council Tax Discretionary Reduction (CTDRS) is a payment that is made from a hardship fund to help with payments of Council Tax.

In the first instance if you are financially struggling, you should make an application for Council Tax Support.

Apply for Council Tax Discretionary Reduction Scheme

If you are already in receipt of or not entitled to Council Tax Support but still struggling, you can apply for Council Tax Discretionary Reduction Scheme online and you must provide proof of your current income and expenses and the last two months bank statements for all accounts held. These can be sent to welfaresupport@sstaffs.gov.uk

If successful, a payment will be paid directly onto your council tax account.

As a CTDRS is not an award of benefit there are no appeal rights, however if you disagree with the decision, you can ask for this to be looked at again.
