Bulky Household Waste
Chargeable Bulky Waste Collection
We can collect bulky household items within 7 calendar days of the request and this includes the following items:
- Fridges and freezers
- Washing machines, dishwashers and tumble dryers
- Sofas, armchairs and chairs
- Furniture including tables, bookcases and cabinets
- Beds and mattresses (classed as one item)
The cost for a bulky household waste collection is £30.00 for every 3 items collected (maximum of 9 items):
- 1-3 items (inclusive) = £30.00
- 4-6 items (inclusive) = £60.00
- 7-9 items (inclusive) = £90.00
Items must be presented at your normal collection point and crews must be able to gain safe access to the items for collection. More information is available on our bulky waste terms and conditions page.

Unwanted household items can be given away or exchanged via a series of websites and forums.
Bulky household items can be re-used or donated via a series of charities and forums outlined below. Items not suitable for re-use can be disposed of for free at the Household Recycling Centres owned by Staffordshire County Council. South Staffordshire Council operates a chargeable bulky waste collection service.
British Heart Foundation offers free collections of furniture and electrical items (some exclusions apply). Book online or call 0808 250 0030.
Acorns Children's Hospice will collect a wide range of furniture, small electrical items and white goods free of charge (some exclusions apply). Call 01564 825027 or visit their website for more information.
You can donate unwanted electrical items to the Katherine House Hospice Re-use Shop located at the Cannock Household Recycling Centre.

Free Disposal at Household Recycling Centres
Bulky household waste including large electrical items can be recycled at the Household Recycling Centres located at Poplars Landfill (Cannock), Pendeford Mill Lane (Bilbrook) and Botterham Lane (Wombourne). These sites are operated by Staffordshire County Council.
