Our Street Scene Team looks after many grass areas in South Staffordshire. These are mainly open spaces, although in some areas Parish Councils cut their own grass.
The Street Scene Team cuts the grass verges that are adjacent to roads (within the village boundaries) on behalf of Staffordshire County Council. Outside the villages the grass verges are cut by the County Council's highway maintenance contractor. Staffordshire County Council fund 6 cuts per year and we subsidise this by carrying out a further 3 cuts.
If you have any queries about grass cutting of highway verges, please click on the following link to report an issue to the County Council Highways Department.

A combination of rotary and cylinder mowers, backed up by strimmers, blowers and sweepers are used. Work is monitored by Council officers to check that work is being carried out to the required standards.
For further information relating to our grass cutting service please contact us using the details below. If you have a complaint or cause for concern, please speak to us as soon as possible. We cannot investigate issues weeks after the event because the evidence will not be there.
If you live in a housing association property and have a query about grounds maintenance on land owned by them, please contact them directly. Please note that South Staffordshire Council transferred all housing stock to South Staffordshire Housing Association in 1997.
